Lesson FAQs

Where will the lesson take place? How do I schedule a time/date?
Lesson Scheduling/Location:

PegStilts.com is now located in Lakeside Oregon, near Coos Bay on the Southern Oregon Coast as of July 2016.

PegStilts.com requires appointments for ALL lessons and order pickups.
I do not offer a storefront or drop-in services.

You can schedule a 1hr lesson and then decide if you feel like you'd like to schedule further lessons based on your ability and comfort.

During the checkout process you will be asked what date/time is ideal for your lesson.

You do not have to give an exact time/date, just a general idea.
I will check my schedule and confirm with you a lesson date/time that works for both of us.

Lessons that were purchased as 'Stilt Walking Lesson - 1 hour, 2 people' can not be used at different times, both people must be present at the same lesson time/date.
What if I need to cancel or change my lesson time? What if I miss my lesson?

If you are going to be late or can not make your scheduled lesson for any reason, please try to give 24hrs notice and we can reschedule.

No refunds or credits for missed lessons (no shows), no exceptions.

If you are late to your lesson, we will still need to end at the originally scheduled time slot, class fees/times will not be pro-rated or adjusted.

Why do I have this policy?
From past experience, I have to say it so that people respect my time.

"...lessons are non-durable goods - meaning, once my Monday slot at 3:30 is gone, my son's teacher can't turn around and sell it again. The only way she would be able to give him a lesson later in the week would be if she were to give up time that she had scheduled for her own private life..."

Do I need my own stilts or knee pads when I come for my lesson? What do I need to bring?

No, not at all.

Stilts and knee pads are available for use during the lessons, you do not have to have your own.

Tie on shoes (ex: sneakers) are required for all peg stilt lessons.

If you do want to use your own stilts, I reserve the right to inspect any/all stilts for sturdiness and construction integrity before teaching you on them.
I also reserve the right to not permit their use for the lesson if I find them to be unsafe for any reason.

Lessons are NOT taught on stilts higher than 2' tall.
Can I copy your stilts and make my own?

NO, PegStilts.com does NOT endorse, allow, or permit the copying of our peg stilt design, style, or construction.

Do not make a pair of your own stilts, or for others, using PegStilts.com products to copy from, that is STEALING.

PegStilts.com reserves the right to file a legal complaints, including Cease and Desists and taking court actions if that is necessary.

If you would like to know how to build stilts of your own, there are instructions that are downloadable for free from the internet, or we could chat about purchasing a copy of my design for your limited use.
